Artist Behind The Brush
About Me
Hi there, I'm Ashlei Elizabeth!
I’m a Jacksonville, Florida–based artist specializing in colored pencil illustration and murals. Ashlei Elizabeth Art was founded in 2023 during my senior year of high school, but my love for creating began long before that.
My artistic journey started in third grade when I entered my hometown’s local art show in DeLand, Florida. I may have only won a participation ribbon, but that little ribbon sparked something much bigger in me! I continued creating, exploring, and dreaming about sharing my artwork with others. Eventually, I began selling stickers, prints, and original drawings at the Artisan Alley Farmers Market in DeLand on Friday nights.
After graduating high school, I took a leap of faith and spent a gap year in Asheville, North Carolina, the artsiest city I knew! I spent that year vending at festivals throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, while also having the opportunity to be featured in galleries and participate in the Community Mural Institute in Morganton, North Carolina. There, I assisted a team of artists in creating a 1,000-square-foot poly-tab community mural connecting Western Piedmont Community College with the rural communities of the region.
That year of exploring, creating, and saying “yes” to new opportunities shaped me into the artist I am today. Now, I’m continuing my journey in sunny Jacksonville, Florida, where I vend at local markets, create whimsical illustrations, take on small-business branding projects and murals, and continue growing my online shop. I’m also pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Digital Media.
Much of my life has been spent between Orlando, Florida, and Asheville, North Carolina, and both places have deeply influenced the way I see the world. From the colorful wildflowers along a mountain trail to the bright life found along Florida’s beaches, I’m constantly inspired by the incredible variety of nature around us.
At the heart of Ashlei Elizabeth Art is my desire to celebrate the joy and wonder I find in God’s creation. Whether I’m creating a small tabletop illustration, designing a sticker, or painting a wall-filling mural, I love capturing the color, character, and little details that make the natural world so beautiful.
My hope is that every piece I create feels a little bit like childhood wonder, bright, joyful, curious, and full of life. I want my art to make you stop, smile, and appreciate the beauty that is all around us.
